Golden Lad finds a haven for all

Here's a fine example of artist Mort Meskin at the top of his form on a Golden Lad story. Since I scanned this from tear sheets I don't know what issue it came from. Golden Lad only went five issues, so one of my astute readers will tell me which one it was. Grand Comics Database doesn't have the information on this particular story.

Mort Meskin is an artist who was prolific for decades and an inspiration to other artists, including a teenaged Joe Kubert.

This one is from Golden Lad #2.

So a "heart of gold" can make you bullet proof, and Golden Lad gets extra points for supporting his fellow costumed adventurer, The Green Lama.

Good story!

Quite welcome. Also, you're missing one page of the story. If you let me know what addy to e-mail it, I could pass a scan along.

I see a lot of what influenced Steve Ditko in Mr. Meskin's work. Great post, Paps.

Great stuff! I am a big Meskin fan. I hope everyone here knows the website his sons built in his memory over at mortmeskin.net. I hope to get around to showing some of my favorite pieces by him. Such as an issue of Atoma and more rare storiess from the late forties. But I'm still not sure if I should do Jerry Robinson first. He is such un underrated artist except for his Batman work.

Fun story! And speaking of Green Lama, is that new collection worth picking up? I don't really know much about the character but the art looks great.

Darkman90, had I known the story was missing a page I wouldn't have posted it. But if you submit that scan I would greatly appreciate it:
