Brain Pirates From The Inner Moon-World!
This is one of those Wonder Woman stories I love so well. It's so goofy it's indescribable, so you'll just have to read it. It's from Sensation Comics #82, 1948.
H.G. Peter was 60 years old when he began drawing Wonder Woman in 1942. He went on until he retired in the mid-'50s. His work, although not traditional comic art, was so distinctive and lively it is in a category of its own. I have a special penchant for the golden age Wonder Woman as well...thanks for posting Pappy!

ReplyDeleteIt's interesting that Peter was in his 60s when he drew this. Growing up during the Victorian era doesn't seem to have made him into a prude.
ReplyDeletei love these old Wonder woman comix! Aphrodite be with you, my friend!...
ReplyDeleteWoo! Woo! This is truly a wild one! Of course it raises as many questions as it asks. If there's a sun and planet *inside* the moon, as Dr. Astronimo calculates, just how big *is* that planet? About the size of Pittsburgh? And a planet THAT size is going to invade the earth! Talk about yer chutzpah!
ReplyDeleteAlso, what exactly is the calculation that "proves" that the moon-people want to invade earth? That must be some complex geometry!
I love how Steve is just totally going to blow off Etta's "mental radio" call. "Aw wow, that telepathy thing I keep RIGHT THERE ON MY DESK is buzzing again. Just ignore it!"
Question: are the moon men German, Belgian, or French?
