I'll feature more in the future.Pappyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01977289662431694607noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31723906.post-90200100363663047092012-02-13T20:52:54.018-08:002012-02-13T20:52:54.018-08:00That was a real nice exemplar of the comic-book ar...That was a real nice exemplar of the comic-book art of that period!Daniel [oeconomist.com]https://www.blogger.com/profile/06763094285750736837noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31723906.post-55715415249316380872012-02-13T16:58:51.465-08:002012-02-13T16:58:51.465-08:00Frank Thomas has a unique drawing style. I'm both surprised and elated to ......wow, Pap.
I'm both surprised and elated to see today's post. Before today I knew nothing of Frank Thomas (or the Owl), but I'm so glad you introduced me to his work!
I'm especially smitten with Thomas's non-action, in-between panels showing autos, fire escapes, trees and shadows, and of course the owl in the tree!

His style reminds me of C.C. Beck and, ironically, some of the 80's Catalan Communications reprint books of European artists who were imitating this era of American comics.

I went scurrying about checking out your other Thomas posts. I'm a fan of his work. Thank you so much. This Owl story is just tops!HEHhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02329418761741982984noreply@blogger.com
